Kristyn Goddard, Founder
Kristyn Goddard
Founder
Kristyn Goddard grew up rescuing animals, both domestic and wild. Not only did she bring home stray dogs and cats, she fostered baby squirrels, an injured hawk, and even a coyote who was hit by a car. After nursing the wild animals back to health she would always set them free. Horses were a big part of Kris's life as well. For years Kris owned, trained, and rode Thoroughbred Race Horses. She founded The Women's Jockey Association in 1979 to help promote women in the male dominated sport of horse racing, and later opened the Paradise Ranch Racing School to train
young professionals. Under Kris's tutelage, The Racing School was also an adoption center for injured and unwanted race horses. After a serious riding injury sidelined her, Kris left the racing industry to pursue a new career with animals.

In 1997 Kris Goddard opened Paradise Ranch Country Club for Dogs. The free spirited Kris couldn't bear keeping the dogs penned up, and soon broke all the "Kennel Industry" rules. She lobbied City Government to set a new precedent for the Boarding Industry by allowing dogs to play together, and to sleep inside the homes on her ranch, instead of kennels. Anyone visiting Paradise Ranch knows it was a battle worth fighting as they watch the happy dogs enjoying the Country Club life.

Have a good idea or feedback on how to make Paradise Ranch shine even more? Interested in partnership opportunities with Paradise Ranch? Kris would like to hear from you! Please email Kris at: info@paradiseranch.net.

She then worked at East Meets West Antiques in Los Angeles, traveling the country doing very high-end Antique shows. Traveling got tiresome for Penny and after being away from Paradise Ranch for 4 years, she decided to come back in January of 2001. She is very creative. Now she is our Aestethics and Marketing director Director. Penny also takes our pet photos. Penny has and will always share the greatest interest of Paradise Ranch.

Jen Barryhill 07
Jennifer Berryhill
Customer Service Supervisor
Jennifer joined the Paradise Ranch family in late 2006. She works in the office making pet appointments, billing and keeping things in order to make sure our four legged guests and their "parents" have the best services possible during their stay. As a child, Jennifer had at least four animals in her home at all times. She was the girl that would bring all the strays’ home then tell her mom, "Look what I found in a bush all alone. . ." To this day Jennifer and her two children 15 and 11 have two dogs and three cats in their home. She states, "now my daughter is the one bringing home all the strays."
Jennifer doesn’t mind, there are just more little friends to love. Jennifer is a college graduate and has received her teaching certificate in Early Childhood Development, teaching preschool for over eight years. After working in a veterinarian office as a teenager, it was always an interest to work closer with animals. Jennifer decided it was time for a change and interviewed at Paradise Ranch, never dreaming it would become her passion instead of an interest to work with animals all day. During breaks she loves to go outside and get to know your "babies." Everyday at work really is like going to Paradise.
